Earlier today, Respawn on Twitter announced that they would be sunsetting Apex Legends Mobile on March 1, 2023.
In their blog post, they make a point to remind people that any purchases made will not be refunded, which is standard practice for Games-as-a-Service models that reach the end of their life. Any currencies purchased will be allowed to be spent until May 1, after that they will disappear when the game is taken down.
Players will still be able to enjoy the PC and Console releases of Apex Legends, which remain the studio's largest success and most profitable game.
Many applaud the sunsetting of the mobile release, for various reasons, from a disdain for mobile games in general to a belief that the mobile release was lackluster and fraught with issues.
